resemble a man in her actions, with a specific end goal of becoming Queen of Scotland.

Lady Macbeth seems, by all accounts, to be extremely compelling in arranging
things to further her plot, choosing when and how they should execute Duncan, and
rebuking her husband for not acting more like a man: ‘I may pour my spirits in
thine, And chastise with the valour of my tongue, All that impedes thee from
the golden round, Which fate and metaphysical aid doth seem, to have thee
crowned withal’1
