Harper refused to be read by a

Harper Lee’s book To Kill A Mockingbird  was a timeless novel that was published in 1960 and still is read till this day in schools worldwide. But a lot of people didn’t like the profanity of the book and the violence it created so the book was accepted and refused to be read by a handful of readers. The setting of the story is in a small town called Maycomb County. The book is narrated by Scout who has learned a lot of things at the age four. AT the age of four she had to learn how to deal with racism, injustice, and many other things. The word courage and bravery is shown in the middle of the book by Scout, Dill, Atticus and Mr.Boo Radley.Scout. Scout has showed courage all over the book. For example when Atticus told Scout not to fight anymore. Atticus told Scout that she should handle negative comments differently because fighting was not the way to handle anything. This type of bravery changed Scout because she would be getting into fights everyday after school because of the things people would say to her. So, she stopped getting into fights and kept Atticus’ word. Another  example is when she continues to learn reading and writing with Atticus even after her teacher told her you are learning it wrong and your dad is teaching you wrong.Atticus. Last of all characters that I choose showed courage the best was Atticus Finch he showed it from the end of the book to the beginning. First he defended the Tom Robinson case like he defended no other. This takes a lot of courage because Tom Robinson was a black man married to a white woman who had mixed children and Atticus knew if he made one wrong mistake or stated something wrong that the whole town of Maycomb would turn around on him and throw hatred. The case of Tom Robinson was he was accused of raping a white woman with the name of Mayella Ewell the daughter of Bob Ewell. Atticus goes ahead, carried on the case and becomes the lawyer of Bob Ewell in the situation. This shows bravery because he believes every black man should be treated the same and everyone should be equal . The whole town believed in the opposite that Atticus believed in.Boo Radley showed courage very well throughout the novel. In one situation towards the end Boo showed plenty of courage to Scout and Dill from saving them from Bob Ewell. Scout and Dill were attacked by Bob Ewell coming home from a town festival. Boo is a hidden character in the book who has committed a few crimes that were kept a secret. This shows bravery because if Boo gets caught he will have to face a few consequences.
